Ben Hoffmann spent his early years growing up in Germany. An early career path of Navel Architecture was left during college and photography became the perfect mix of art and engineering.

Primarily a portraitist, his work has taken him around the globe photographing everyone from world leaders to rural farmers and imbuing them all with a common grace and honesty. With an aesthetic influenced by travels through western states, stints as a commercial fisherman on the Bering Sea as well as living in New York and traveling the worlds metropolitan centers he explores the corners and centers of civilization with a keen eye and a sharp mind.

When not in New York he splits his time between Portland, ME and a rustic island on the Maine coast without electricity or indoor plumbing accompanied by his faithful husky/malamute Pru.
